Devin The Crazy Awesome Townsend!

Devin Townsend has announced an epic crazy show at the London roundhouse! The Retinal Circus will take place in London at the Roundhouse on October 27, 2012! Tickets go on sale on Friday 18th November (today) via the HevyDevy.com webisite.

Devin released this press release:

"This last week was probably THE defining moment in my life, let alone my career in many ways. I’ve had some intense gigs and experiences in music before, but all pale in comparison to the 4 sold out shows in London where we played all four DTP records, with four different bands, night after night.Everyone worked incredibly hard, and each of us gave 100% to pull it off, bands, players, management, label, and audience. It was awesome!
So here’s the next big gig: Next October 27th, at the amazing Roundhouse in London, We’re putting on the most definitive ‘Devin’ show to date. A culmination of my ENTIRE career with a star line up and full supporting cast.
The show is being called ‘The Retinal Circus’, (named after an old Vancouver club in the 60’s, famous for psychedelic rock shows) and will be more than just a musical performance… there will be an art exhibition, actors, Ziltoid, stilt walkers, fire breathers…you name it. My goal has always been to make SHOWS, and this is the first opportunity I have been given to do a high-end production that puts it all together! It’s the closest Saturday to Halloween, and the goal is to make something amazing that we can all enjoy…details to come…psychedelic!
My career has been full of amazing musicians, and there will be plenty of them present at this show, and I’ll be playing music that has never been attempted due to the size of the songs and the need for certain things.
It will be recorded for a DVD of course, and it’s going to be a pretty intense experience… we have a year to make it perfect, so I just wanted to give you some hints! The VIP package will be available with special goodies among other exclusive things.
Anyways, I’m back to work here…I hope to see you there, I’m beyond excited to have this opportunity, we’re not taking it lightly!"

50 VIP tickets will be made available. The content for the VIP package may change leading up to the date but for now it includes:

* Meet-and-greet with the full band
-Early entry to the show to get the best seats (might change to reserved seating; to be confirmed)
* Tour of the venue showing the production and everything else that goes with it.
* Have your picture taken with Devin and/or band by a professional photographer.
* High-quality Devin Townsend bag containing:
* VIP laminate and lanyard
* Exclusive VIP t-shirt
*Exclusive VIP tour poster printed on canvas
* Additional goodies confirmed though exact specs to be confirmed

I Feel So Behind!

Man! I feel seriously behind! This week Vinyl, Reviews, Blackstorm and the mighty Gruesome Stuff Relish! I am writing the interviews now, if you have any questions for the bands just comment below and I will add them to my list!

Ahhhh News

I don't care about Black Sabbath. Big Whoop! Been done before. Done.. Next..

Do we care about Courtney Love?

I think this video proves she needs help. I mean any normal person would be grateful for a fan loving her music and her late husband. The Foo Fighters are not gay Courtney. This video is the most annoying thing I have ever seen and I would probably say it to her scrawny face. I AM NOT ADDING THE ONE OF HER BREASTS! EUGHH!

Jonathan Davis Wins Quote Of The Day

  "DUBSTEP IS THE NEW METAL!"

Interview with MTV.Com

"Do you think that Korn fans will actually crossover into being dubstep fans though?" His reply is sure to spark up a response from the metal world, "Some will, sure. I think we did that with Follow the Leader too. Hip-hop was blowing up at that time. Now it’s all commercialized so this is kind of the new hip-hop in that sense. It was about being street and being underground and having skills. These guys, all the shows they do, the underground shows. You know, Skrillex for example, he does so much for the scene. People say he killed the genre, others say he made it huge. He has a lot of haters but he’s got a lot of people who love him too. There are always purists. It’s like all the purist metal-heads that said we were really rock when we came out. Trailblazers of any kind of music are going to get that flack. People are going to want to hold on the past. This is the future; it’s the new hip-hop, it’s the new metal, it’s the new everything."

*Silence* Uhhhh *Silence* Ummm

Please help me out...

Loutallica Perform On 'Later With Jools Holland'

Lou Reed and Metallica performed on 'Later With Jools Holland' last night which is broadcast to millions over the U.K. Lulu has been the album that has divided metal, Loutallica on one side and the metal community on the other. Watching this clip from last night's performance makes my heart sink. If I went to a pub and saw that I would boo and walk out. Is this the mighty Metallica?! Lou Reed of Velvet Underground?! I can only think that they have caught some kind of 'I suck' disease!.Well see for yourself guys and let me know what you think...
